Director of Product Design & Staff Product / UX Designer
Systems-driven design leadership for clarity, consistency, and scale in regulated products.
About Me
Guiding Principles
01
Design both, the System
and the Surface
I believe clarity starts beneath the interface. Products succeed when the underlying systems (people, processes, and decisions) are thoughtfully designed. My focus is on creating frameworks and design systems that reduce ambiguity, scale with teams, and hold up under real-world constraints, especially in regulated environments.
02
Lead with Empathy and
Shared Understanding
Empathy is not just about users; it is essential for teams. I prioritize listening, shared language, and alignment across disciplines to create trust and momentum. When people feel understood, collaboration improves and better decisions follow. Strong outcomes are built through respect, kindness, and clarity.
03
Slow Down to
Speed Up
Speed without intention creates rework and fragility. I believe in slowing down at critical moments to define problems clearly, make informed decisions, and build durable solutions. This approach leads to higher quality, stronger systems, and faster progress over time, especially in complex environments.
Design Point of View
Design is a system before it is an interface
My work begins by understanding the systems behind the product: people, processes, constraints, and incentives. Interfaces are expressions of those systems. When the system is unclear, the experience suffers. When the system is designed with intention, clarity follows.
Leadership shows up through structure
I view leadership as creating the conditions for good work to happen. This includes defining process, setting expectations, and building systems that support autonomy. Strong design leadership is quiet, durable, and felt in how teams operate day to day.
Regulated environments demand rigor and empathy
In high-stakes and regulated domains, design decisions carry real consequences. I balance compliance, safety, and usability by grounding work in empathy, documentation, and clear decision-making. Thoughtful systems help teams navigate constraints without losing sight of the people they serve.
I aim to leave teams stronger than I found them
Whether leading, mentoring, or contributing individually, my goal is to build capability. This means sharing context, documenting decisions, and helping others develop judgment. The success of the work is measured not only by what ships, but by how teams grow.
Clarity enables scale
I focus on reducing ambiguity for both users and teams. Clear frameworks, shared language, and repeatable processes allow teams to move faster without sacrificing quality. Scale is not achieved by adding more, but by making better decisions easier.
